13 Though I speak with the tongues 1 And he shewed me a pure river of men and water of angelslife, and have not charity, I am become clear as sounding brasscrystal, or a tinkling cymbalproceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.
2 And though I have In the gift midst of prophecythe street of it, and understand all mysterieson either side of the river, and all knowledge; and though I have all faithwas there the tree of life, so that I could remove mountainswhich bare twelve manner of fruits, and have not charity, I am nothingyielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.
3 And though I bestow all my goods to feed there shall be no more curse: but the poor, throne of God and though I give my body to of the Lamb shall be burned, and have not charity, in it profiteth me nothing.; and his servants shall serve him:
4 Charity suffereth long, And they shall see his face; and is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,his name shall be in their foreheads.
5 Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh And there shall be no evilnight there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun;for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.
6 Rejoiceth not in iniquityAnd he said unto me, but rejoiceth in These sayings are faithful and true: and the truth;Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
7 Beareth all thingsBehold, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all thingsI come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.
8 Charity never faileth: but whether there be propheciesAnd I John saw these things, they shall fail; whether there be tonguesand heard them. And when I had heard and seen, they shall cease; whether there be knowledge, it shall vanish awayI fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.
9 For we know in partThen saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and we prophesy in partof them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.
10 But when that which is perfect is comeAnd he saith unto me, then that which Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is in part shall be done awayat hand.
11 When I was a childHe that is unjust, I spake as a childlet him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, I understood as a childlet him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, I thought as a childlet him be righteous still: but when I became a manand he that is holy, I put away childish thingslet him be holy still.
12 For now we see through a glassAnd, darklybehold, I come quickly; but then face and my reward is with me, to face: now I know in part; but then give every man according as his work shall I know even as also I am knownbe.
13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city. 15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie. 16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star. 17 And now abideth faiththe Spirit and the bride say, hopeCome. And let him that heareth say, charityCome. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely. 18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these three; but things, God shall add unto him the greatest plagues that are written in this book: 19 And if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book. 20 He which testifieth these is charitythings saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus. 21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.
