For if there come 3 Now the serpent was more subtil than any beast of the field which the Lord God had made. And he said unto your assembly a man with a gold ringthe woman, in goodly apparelYea, and there come in also a poor man in vile raiment;hath God said, Ye shall not eat of every tree of the garden?
2 And ye have respect to him that weareth the gay clothing, and say woman said unto him, Sit thou here in a good place; and say to the poorserpent, Stand thou there, or sit here under my footstoolWe may eat of the fruit of the trees of the garden:
Are ye not then partial 3 But of the fruit of the tree which is in yourselvesthe midst of the garden, and are become judges God hath said, Ye shall not eat of evil thoughts?it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die.
Hearken4 And the serpent said unto the woman, my beloved brethren, Hath Ye shall not God chosen the poor of this world rich in faith, and heirs of the kingdom which he hath promised to them that love him?surely die:
But ye have despised 5 For God doth know that in the poor. Do not rich men oppress youday ye eat thereof, then your eyes shall be opened, and draw you before the judgment seats?ye shall be as gods, knowing good and evil.
Do not they blaspheme 6 And when the woman saw that worthy name by the which ye are called?tree was good for food, and that it was pleasant to the eyes, and a tree to be desired to make one wise, she took of the fruit thereof, and did eat, and gave also unto her husband with her; and he did eat.
If ye fulfil 7 And the royal law according to the scriptureeyes of them both were opened, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyselfand they knew that they were naked; and they sewed fig leaves together, ye do well:and made themselves aprons.
But if ye have respect to persons, ye commit sin, 8 And they heard the voice of the Lord God walking in the garden in the cool of the day: and are convinced Adam and his wife hid themselves from the presence of the Lord God amongst the trees of the law as transgressorsgarden.
For whosoever shall keep 9 And the whole lawLord God called unto Adam, and yet offend in one pointsaid unto him, he is guilty of all.Where art thou?
For 10 And he that said, Do not commit adulteryI heard thy voice in the garden, said alsoand I was afraid, Do not kill. Now if thou commit no adultery, yet if thou kill, thou art become a transgressor of the lawbecause I was naked; and I hid myself.
So speak ye11 And he said, and so do, as they Who told thee that shall be judged by the law thou wast naked? Hast thou eaten of liberty.the tree, whereof I commanded thee that thou shouldest not eat?
For he shall have judgment without mercy12 And the man said, The woman whom thou gavest to be with me, she gave me of the tree, that hath shewed no mercy; and mercy rejoiceth against judgmentI did eat.
13 And the Lord God said unto the woman, What doth it profitis this that thou hast done? And the woman said, my brethren, though a man say he hath faithThe serpent beguiled me, and have not works? can faith save him?I did eat.
If a brother or sister be naked14 And the Lord God said unto the serpent, Because thou hast done this, thou art cursed above all cattle, and destitute above every beast of daily foodthe field; upon thy belly shalt thou go,and dust shalt thou eat all the days of thy life:
15 And one of you say unto themI will put enmity between thee and the woman, Depart in peace, be ye warmed and filledbetween thy seed and her seed; notwithstanding ye give them not those things which are needful to the body; what doth it profit?shall bruise thy head, and thou shalt bruise his heel.
Even so faith16 Unto the woman he said, if it hath not worksI will greatly multiply thy sorrow and thy conception; in sorrow thou shalt bring forth children; and thy desire shall be to thy husband, is dead, being aloneand he shall rule over thee.
Yea17 And unto Adam he said, a man may say, Thou Because thou hast faithhearkened unto the voice of thy wife, and hast eaten of the tree, of which I have workscommanded thee, saying, Thou shalt not eat of it: shew me cursed is the ground for thy faith without sake; in sorrow shalt thou eat of it all the days of thy works, and I will shew thee my faith by my;
Thou believest that there is one God18 Thorns also and thistles shall it bring forth to thee; and thou doest well: shalt eat the devils also believe, and tremble.herb of the field;
But wilt 19 In the sweat of thy face shalt thou knoweat bread, O vain mantill thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, that faith without works is dead?and unto dust shalt thou return.
Was not Abraham our father justified by works, when he had offered Isaac 20 And Adam called his son upon wife's name Eve; because she was the altar?mother of all living.
Seest thou how faith wrought with 21 Unto Adam also and to his workswife did the Lord God make coats of skins, and by works was faith made perfect?clothed them.
22 And the scripture was fulfilled which saith, Abraham believed Lord Godsaid, Behold, the man is become as one of us, to know good and it was imputed unto him for righteousnessevil: and now, lest he was called put forth his hand, and take also of the Friend tree of, and eat, and live for ever:
Ye see then how that by works a man is justified23 Therefore the Lord God sent him forth from the garden of Eden, and not by faith onlyto till the ground from whence he was taken.
Likewise also was not Rahab 24 So he drove out the harlot justified by works, when she had received man; and he placed at the messengerseast of the garden of Eden Cherubims, and had sent them out another a flaming sword which turned every way? 26 For as the body without the spirit is dead, so faith without works is dead also. For more, please see [[Books to keep the way of the Bible]].
